HAVANT BOROUGH COUNCIL REGENERATION GROUP

Guidelines for making representations

Details of applications for planning permission submitted to Havant Borough Council are published each week together with details of development proposals in neighbouring Local Authorities upon which the Borough Councils views have been sought. Those who are interested may inspect them between 9.00am - 5.00pm Monday - Friday at 2nd Floor Reception, Civic Offices, Civic Centre Road, Havant. Any applications for development in the Widley/Purbrook/Waterlooville/Cowplain areas may also be viewed at the Service Point, Hermitage House, 7 St Georges Walk, Waterlooville, PO7 7TU between 9.00am and 5.00pm except Wednesday (until 3.30pm) and Thursday (until 6.00pm). Alternatively if you would like to check on the progress of an application please email: planning.development@havant.gov.uk.

Anyone who wishes to express views may make written representations or e-mail representations to representations@havant.gov.uk which, must be received by the Head of Planning and Development Services no later than first post on the date stipulated on the attached list. We will only notify you in writing of the Council's decision if you have made comments in writing or by e-mail about the application.

All written representations received by the above date will be taken into account. The Council's Committees are held in public and although the name of a writer is not normally disclosed at a meeting, in many cases the substance of the representations themselves serve to identify the writer. Furthermore, all objections and representations will become available for public inspection. No action can therefore be taken on letters indicating that they are to be dealt with in confidence and no reliance should be placed on having made representations as to a similar application in the past.

The Council issues this list to the Local Press, Citizens Advice Bureaux, Libraries, some churches and local organisations. It is also possible to send the list to other interested parties on the payment of an appropriate fee to cover administrative costs.

The Council operates a deputation scheme enabling individuals, including applicants, to speak at Committee meetings when a decision is being taken. If you wish to arrange this, please contact the case officer responsible for the application by telephoning the 2nd Floor Reception on 023 9244 6051.

All representations should be addressed to:
