The Emsworth Community Board was launched at a public meeting held on 9 September 2004. The board is chaired by Councillor Virginia Wilson-Smith, and members come from all parts of Emsworth and across the ages. From the HBC Youth Council through to senior citizens and from the major organizations to individual residents. Havant has been awarded over 3 million pounds to spend on enhancement of the borough, and £50,000 has been allocated immediately to spend on projects which will benefit Emsworth. It is hoped the boards will also provide a conduit to the council for ideas from the community. The public are invited to attend any board meetings, and will be given their chance to speak.
